Primary Academy runs tutor groups that are designed to deliver high quality teaching to a small, focused group of pupils to help them achieve their potential, develop confidence, and prepare for the next stage of education. We are here to supplement your child's full-time education.

Our teaching has resulted in pupils flourishing, regularly achieving excellent results in KS2 SATS/ in KS3 and GCSEs assessments whilst promoting enjoyment and maintaining children’s well-being.

Our tutoring services are supplementary and designed to support your child's full-time education, not to provide full-time or structured education.

    Professionalism, expert preparation and warm approach has enriched our boy's learning; they have grown in confidence and significantly lifted their grades since we invested in expert tutoring.

    Tutoring input to our eldest son’s approach to 13+ exams in English and Maths played a big part in his success with recent school entrance exams.

  • The tutor's key strength’s is the ability to explain topics and approaches clearly to children.  This has been particularly useful in helping our youngest son ‘pre-learn’ specific maths topics before being taught them in the classroom at school. This approach has increased his confidence in maths markedly.  Indeed, it’s just resulted in him being ‘moved up’ into a more independent learning group.

  • Both boys always look forward to their sessions, even after a long day at school. That being said, the tutor knows just how to motivate them when they’re tired, even if it means doing a few star-jumps.

  • The boys’ keenness to work is, I am sure, a result of a brilliant teaching style and a fundamental understanding of what makes children tick.

  • In summary, they are the most brilliant tutor for children in the 8-14 age range and, I’m sure, ages either side of that.  We have every confidence in their ability and feel that they have proven to be a great investment in our children’s academic success.

Who it’s for: KS2 pupils who need extra support or challenge in core subjects, including SATs preparation and confidence building.

What subjects: English tutoring and maths tutoring are the focus at KS2, with targeted support to strengthen key skills and close gaps.

How lessons work: Online group tutoring in groups with clear explanations, guided practice and short tasks. Sessions are led by an expert practitioner with over 18 years’ experience (class teacher, deputy head and qualified headteacher), Enhanced DBS checked, and highly qualified (BSc, PGCE, QTS, NPQH).

What outcomes to expect: Stronger foundations in reading, writing and maths, improved accuracy and confidence, and steady progress through structured teaching and feedback.
